Notice Board

26 February 2021 - Championships

State Championships for 2021 are STATE, Barrett Reserve West Beach, 12th, 13th and 14th June. COUNTRY 28th, 29th August Mildura, Cnr. 11th and Flora Streets.

SAJSA have to put in a Covid-19 plan to host the Championships and there will be certain restrictions and rules in place to receive permission from SA Health that participants will have to adhere to.

  1. All attendees, players, coaches, officials and spectators will have to use the QR Code displayed or sign the form at the admin office EVERY DAY
  2. Every Association will need to provide a Covid-19 Marshall for EVERY GAME their teams play in (can be the same person). Associations should now accredit Marshals in preparation for this in readiness so they can monitor the 1.5 social distancing rules. We are not insisting they wear a visible vest but must wear a badge on a lanyard or pinned identifying them as a Marshall.
  3. We recommend that all spectators from each team restrict to either 1 half of the pitch or on the other side if possible to maintain social distancing of 1.5m which the Covid-19 Marshalls will be monitoring.

To make sure this event can run safely and successfully we ask every member Association to make sure all players selected and their parents/guardians/Grandparents are aware of the rules.

With respect to the Country event Sunraysia currently have a Covid plan under review and we will be posting further information of this prior to the event.

The rules for the State Championship are as of this current date and we will keep you informed of any changes that may occur.

02 October 2020 - Rob Kilpatrick

Today some of our committee members had the honour of representing SAJSA at the funeral service for Rob Kilpatrick in Mount Barker. It was rewarding to see so many people in attendance, demonstrating just how well revered and respected Rob was to many persons. It was only hearing the brilliant Eulogies given by Rob’s wife Ingrid, 2 sons Brendan and Alex along with daughter Ellen, that made me (Roy Matthews) realise how respected and humble Rob was despite me working alongside him for the past 10 years, on the SAJSA Board, as well as many sub-committees.

15 June 2020 - Cancellation of Country Championships

Regrettably we have to announce that the SAJSA are cancelling the 2020 Country Championships. Unfortunately the uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 restrictions leave us no choice.
Sunraysia have agreed to host it in 2021 and Broken Hill have agreed to postpone their hosting until 2022.

We sincerely thank both these Associations for their co-operation and understanding.

I April SAJSA Memorandum - State Championships Cancellation

Regrettably SAJSA has to announce that the State Championships, scheduled for the June long weekend has been cancelled.

Since our last advice in early march it was hoped the virus may have flattened out and abated to a safety level, but this hasn’t happened therefore in the interests of the safety of all players, parents and officials, we have made this decision.

Once again apologies for this cancellation but we must do this in the interests of your safety.

Regards

Ray Matthews
Chairman SAJSA

The playing rules and policies for the State and Country Championships can be accessed under the Documents tab and all Associations must make themselves aware of these. Click on these links if you cannot open the tab. Playing Rules : Policies.

There is a Championship Information Sheet for Association Officials under the Documents tab which can also be accessed by clicking on this link. The main points are also re-iterated below.

Signed off team registration forms including the players' shirt numbers, names and FFA registration numbers must be lodged at the Administration Office 1 hour before a team's first game. Each Association must nominate a person on the first morning to sit on a Disciplinary Tribunal if required.

Programs for the teams can be collected by the team manager at the Administrion Office on the first day. Each Association will be allocated a pitch to tidy up at the end of each day and to remove the flags and nets at the end of the games on day 3. An Association official must obtain this information from the Administration Office on the first morning.

Any complaint, query or request to the Administration must come through the Association delegate and not from team officials or parents.

The FFSA Referees Branch cannot guarantee that they will be able to supply assistant referees' for the Championships. Please ensure that each of your teams has a person available to act as a linesperson.

Could each team please ensure that your team manager or other nominated team official wears a coloured vest or bib to identify them as a team steward for the referee to approach if (s)he needs to relay requests or information during a game.
Each team and coach should remain within the designated technical areas during a game. If a technical area is not marked both teams should be on the same side of the pitch as directed by the referee and remain within an imaginary box 7m x 5m either side of the halfway line.
